From Bloomberg: NYT is paying 14% on the paltry $225,000,000.00 it is borrowing from Senor Sills. I use "paltry" in the sense that the amount would barely cover the 2008 Yankees payroll.
Read the other terms of the deal mentioned by Bloomberg. To me it smacks of hard money lending where the lender is betting that the borrower will go under.
I can't be the only one seeing the irony in the Illegal Immigration supporting NY TIMES, being hocked to a Mexican who is probably going to put it out of its liberal misery and turn a profit selling off its assets.
